  • June 9 Yearbook Distribution
  • June 12 8th grade promotion dance 7-10 pm
  • June 13 8th grade Discovery Kingdom trip/minimum day for 7th graders
  • June 14 Minimum day
  • June 15 Last day of school/minimum day/8th grade promotion celebration @ 9:30 am/7th grade picnic

End of Year Requirements

Ms. Tahara reviewed the expectations for behavior and academics, including requirements for participation in end of the year activities during PE periods the week we returned from Spring break. 

8th GRADE END OF THE YEAR ACTIVITIES

Participation in the end of the year activities for 8th graders such as the ceremony, dance, theme park trip, etc. is a privilege earned in recognition and celebration of student achievement; students are expected to achieve minimal standards in attendance, academics, and behavior.  

These standards are:

  • No more than 1 “F” grade in the 4th quarter
  • No suspensions in the 4th quarter
  • No excessive referrals or other major behavior infractions during their 8th grade school year
  • No outstanding bills for lost or damaged textbooks, library books, or materials
  • Any revisions to this policy will be communicated to students during the year if need be and are up to administrative discretion.

7th GRADE END OF THE YEAR ACTIVITIES

In order for 7th graders to be able to participate in the end of the year activities such as the 7th grade picnic, etc. They may not have any suspensions in the 4th quarter, excessive referrals, or other major behavior infractions (up to administrative discretion).

7th Grade Parents
End of the Year Picnic

The end of the year festivities will be here before we know it! The 7th grade picnic is a fun tradition held at McKinley Park on the last day of school, Thursday, June 15th.  Parent volunteers are needed to make this a successful and safe event. 

Please contact the office manager, Braunwyn Juhlin by e-mail at Braunwyn-Juhlin@scusd.edu or call 395-5370 if you are available to supervise during the picnic from approximately 9:00 am to noon. We also need parents to donate individual portion wrapped snacks or individual serving size drinks (bottled water, boxed juices, etc.) for the kids to enjoy throughout the day.  If you prefer to donate cash, we will gladly use it to purchase the drinks and snacks for the kids.  If you can provide snacks or other donation, please notify our office technician, Natasha Brown by email at Natasha-Brown@scusd.edu. Please bring your non-perishable snacks to the main office by Thursday, June 8th. Your support is greatly appreciated!
