Good afternoon, Sutter families.    

Incoming 7th Graders: Please make sure to read the welcome letter for incoming 7th graders (letter includes links with important information for our upcoming events as we get ready for school). 

“Getting to Know Sutter” Dates: Tuesday, August 9th (Last Name A-L) or Wednesday, August 10th (Last Name M-Z) Sessions are from 9-11 am in the cafeteria on both dates. If you plan to have your child attend this optional event, please note that we are currently required to have students wear masks indoors.  We will have masks available if your child needs one.  As a reminder, this event is for students only, so please feel free to drop them off.

Our orientation on August 25th will be for both students and parents. 

New and Returning Students: Some of our sports teams will be starting soon.  If your child is considering trying out for any team sports, please complete and return all 3 forms (see below) to our main office or you can email them to All forms must be submitted before your child will be allowed to tryout. Once on file, these forms will be sufficient for any and all school sports for the 2022-2023 school year.

Flag Football: Flag football tryouts will be August 29th-31st (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) from 3:00-4:00 pm. Practices will be scheduled M-Th from 3:00-4:00 for the entirety of the season. For more information, contact 

Summer Office Hours: Our main office is now open from 8 am-3 pm, Monday-Friday. 

Locker Dates: In preparation for upcoming locker move in dates, I wanted to remind you that your child will need to bring their combination lock with them when they claim their locker.   As a reminder, we do not have enough lockers for all students, so we use a lottery system. You will receive an email notification by Monday, August 15th if you have been pre-assigned a random locker through our lottery, or if you have been placed on our waitlist.  We do not take locker requests.  Locker “move in” day for 8th graders will be on Wednesday, August 24th from 9:30-11:30 and 7th grade locker “move in” day will be on Tuesday, August 30th from 9:30-11:30.   

All students will receive a PE locker. These will be assigned by your PE teacher after the start of school.  

PE Clothes:  All students are required to dress for PE.  Please click on the links for PE clothes information. 

Students do not need to have clothes by the first day of school, PE teachers will notify students of when to start bringing their PE clothes and their PE combination lock. 

Communication:  You can expect to receive ongoing communication from Sutter throughout the year, as we have a lot of activities, events, and information to keep you apprised of.  Aside from the Principal messages through Infinite Campus messenger, you are welcome to opt in to receive additional quick reminder messages via text/email of upcoming events and activities.  See below for sign up info.

Class schedules:  We are working hard on class schedules to ensure that every student is placed in the appropriate level courses that they need.  Please do not send us your teacher preference requests.  Class schedules will be available through Infinite Campus on August 29th.  Incoming 7th graders will receive a hard copy of their draft schedule on orientation day.

Parent/Guardian Access to Infinite Campus:   Infinite Campus is the portal that we use for schedules, attendance, grades, etc. Please click on this link if you do not currently have access to Infinite Campus.  If you need help, please contact our office staff.

Basic school supply list: 

Any other additional supplies that are needed will be on the class syllabus provided by the teachers on the first day of school.  You do not need to purchase a planner, all students will be given a Sutter Middle School planner on the first day of school.
