Good afternoon, Sutter families. I apologize for the length of this email, but as we continue to have new students enrolling, I’d like to make sure everyone has this information.
Incoming 7th Graders Orientation Date: Thursday, August 25th (9:00 am Last Name A-L and 12:00 pm Last Name M-Z). Parents will meet in the gym and students will meet in the cafeteria. Each session will start with a presentation that will last approximately 30 minutes, followed by an opportunity to purchase PE clothes, get class schedules, take a tour of the school, and gather other important information regarding Infinite Campus, PTSO membership, LCFF forms, and more. (Note: Schedules will be available online through Infinite Campus on August 29th) Link to our ”orientation checklist“ and “orientation map“. Parking will be available through our back gate on J street.
Please note: SCUSD recently revised the indoor masking policy to strongly recommended. However, this does not apply to an event such as orientation, so we ARE REQUIRED to wear masks while indoors.
If you are unable to make it to our orientation, I will provide slides with information as a follow up by Friday, August 26th.

LCFF Forms: Please take a couple of minutes to fill out your LCFF application to ensure maximum funding for our school. This information is kept private and is used to determine school funding levels. Only one application per household is needed. Please fill this out as soon as possible.
Locker Dates: Please click this link for locker information . Locker “move in” day for 8th graders will be on Wednesday, August 24th from 9:30-11:30 and 7th grade locker “move in” day will be on Tuesday, August 30th from 9:30-11:30 by our rear stairwell. You should have received an email stating whether you have been assigned a locker or are on our waitlist. Please remind your child to bring ONE COMBINATION lock with them on locker move-in day, including any locker shelves, etc. that they may want to put in there. Before locker day, have your child practice opening their lock and memorizing their combination (we recommend you purchase combination locks that come in a 2 pack so they can have the same combination for their hall and PE locker). ALL students will receive a PE locker. These will be assigned by your PE teacher after the start of school.

Students do not need to have clothes by the first day of school, PE teachers will notify students of when to start bringing their PE clothes and their PE combination lock.
Getting to School:
Carpool sign ups- Sign up using this link if you want to try to be a part of a carpool with others that live in your area. Note: if you sign up, the spreadsheet with your information is then shared with those who have filled out the form.
RT Bus Information: Students can ride the Regional Transit bus for free. See linkhttps://www.sacrt.com/apps/rydefreert-makes-back-to-school-easy/ Students can use their school ID (there will be a grace period at the start of the year as students have not received new ID’s yet). Sports: All 3 sports forms must be on file before your child will be allowed to tryout. Please see our website to access the forms. Email Natasha-Brown@scusd.edu if you have questions.

Flag Football: Flag football tryouts will be August 29th-31st (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) from 3:00-4:00 pm. Practices will be scheduled M-Th from 3:00-4:00 for the entirety of the season. For more information, contact Christopher-Latino@scusd.edu.
Class schedules: We are working hard on class schedules to ensure that every student is placed in the appropriate level courses that they need. Please do not send us your teacher preference requests. Class schedules will be available through Infinite Campus on August 29th. Incoming 7th graders will receive a hard copy of their draft schedule on orientation day.
Parent/Guardian Access to Infinite Campus: Infinite Campus is the portal that we use for schedules, attendance, grades, etc. Please click on this link if you do not currently have access to Infinite Campus. If you need help, please contact our office staff.
Basic school supply list:https://sutter.scusd.edu/post/generic-supply-list Any other additional supplies that are needed will be on the class syllabus provided by the teachers on the first day of school. You do not need to purchase a planner, all students will be given a Sutter Middle School planner on the first day of school.
Chromebooks: Returning SCUSD students should have their Chromebooks from last school year. If you are new to the district, please come by our main office to check one out during summer office hours 8-3 or regular school hours once the year starts 7:30-4:00. Teachers will notify students if this is needed at school, otherwise students can leave it at home.
