Good afternoon, Mighty Oak families! I hope your kids enjoyed watching the AMAZING staff Air Rock performance during lunch today! We love putting on a show to help get the excitement going for the student Air Rock next month!

We only have one more week before the end of the quarter on Friday, January 26th. Friday will also be a minimum day with dismissal at 12:18 pm. 

Air Rock: If you are planning on participating in Air Rock, please submit your group’s application to Mrs. Zarate’s box no later than January 23rd. Remember: only submit one application per group and don’t forget to attach the lyrics to the song. Be on the lookout for audition times and dates posted outside room 111 on Thursday, January 25th. 

Spring Sports: Our Spring sports are coming up around the corner. If your child is considering trying out for any sports, they must complete and return all 3 forms to our main office or you can email them to Natasha-Brown@scusd.edu . All forms must be submitted before your child will be allowed to tryout. Team Sport Forms: Physical Form, Team Participation Form and Concussion Form

Track & Field: The mandatory track info meeting was on Wednesday (1/17). Prospective athletes needed to attend the meeting AND fill out this Google form in order to try out. A make-up meeting will be announced, if needed.  

Track tryouts will begin Monday, January 29th. Check the Track page on the Miwok MS website for more info. If you have questions about track and field, please contact Coach Bryan Moreno at Bryan-Moreno@scusd.edu .

Looking for 7th Boys Soccer Coach: The posting is still open for our 7th grade boys soccer coach. If you are interested, please apply and/or contact our athletic director, Christopher Latino, if you have questions.

NAEP: Miwok Middle will participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) on Friday, February 2, 2024. NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what students know and can do in various subjects. NAEP is administered by the National Center for Education Statistics, within the U.S. Department of Education. NAEP is different from our state assessments because it is a common measure of achievement nationwide. Fifty randomly chosen students will be participating and parents of these students will be notified through email.

School Site Council: There will be a School Site Council meeting on Wednesday, January 24th.Here is a link to the agenda.
