Good afternoon, Mighty Oak families! Yesterday, we welcomed representatives from Wilton Rancheria for a celebration of our new name, Miwok Middle School. We are grateful they were able to join us and share a part of their culture with us. 

We only have 2 more weeks until the end of the 1st quarter! The last day of the quarter is on Friday, November 3rd and will be a minimum day schedule with students being dismissed at 12:18 pm. Do your best to actively participate in class and give your best effort! 

Make-up Picture Day: Make-up pictures will take place on Monday, October 23rd during 1st and 2nd period. 

Red Ribbon Week: October is the month that we celebrate Red Ribbon Week. It takes place October 23rd through 31st and this year’s theme is” Be Kind To Your Mind….Live Drug Free.” Red Ribbon bracelets will be passed out on Monday, October 23rd to students.  

Halloween Dress up Day: Halloween is on Tuesday, October 31st! As a reminder, be creative and dress in a costume appropriate for school and no masks. Top costumes will be invited to participate in our costume contest during lunch!  

Kindness is Magic Dress Up Day and Dance:  Wear all purple to celebrate World Kindness Day on November 3rd. There will be a dance immediately after school from 12:20-2:20 pm. Tickets will be $7 and on sale starting Friday, October 27th at lunch. 

Math Peer Tutoring: Need some help in math? Come by Math Peer Tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch in the Library. Tutoring will begin on Tuesday, November 7th! You may bring your lunch.

PTSO Acheson Wine Fundraiser: Acheson Wine Company will donate a percentage of sales back to a Miwok Middle School the  entire month  of October! Mention Miwok MS when purchasing wine for consumption in house or when purchasing bottles of wine to go. Click   here for the flyer. Acheson Wine Company is located at 1629 19th St. (Hours: 2pm-8pm)

SCUSD Graduate Profile Input: SCUSD is updating its Graduate Profile which describes the skills, knowledge, and behaviors of a Sac City Graduate. Taking the survey is easy. Simply use the camera on your cell phone to scan the QR code on this  link. Thank you for sharing your ideas!  

Important Forms to Complete: Please fill out the  LCFF Data Collection Form which helps to determine our school funding. We still have 14% of our families that need to fill this out. 

PTSO FALL-tastic 2023 Coming Soon: Our FALL-tastic fundraising event will run from November 6th- 17th. Funds raised from this event will go directly back to our students and our campus. All you need to do is collect donations, and you earn the prizes! Every donation donated on your behalf earns YOU new Miwok Middle School gear. More information coming soon!!
