Good evening, Mighty Oak families!

FALL-tastic extended!!: You have one more week to gather donations to not only earn Oaks gear, but a chance to win an additional prize for being a top earner!! FALL-tastic event has been extended to December 8th!! We’re currently at $16,000 and are hoping to meet our goal of $20,000. To learn more, please read this letter from our PTSO. Winter Dance: On Thursday, December 7th, we will host our semi-formal Winter Wonderland Dance from 5-7 pm! Tickets are on sale at lunch. $7 cash only, in Room 111.

Holiday Grams: Want to brighten a friend’s day? Send them a Holiday Gram to be delivered to them during 4th period right before Winter Break! You can purchase them starting next week for $1 at lunch in Room 111.

Winter Arts Night: Don’t miss our Miwok Middle School’s Winter Art’s night on December 14th! Woodshop, art and photography classes will have student-created items for sale: cutting boards, toys, photography, cyanotypes, small paintings, handmade crafts, stocking stuffers, and gifts galore! Bake sale items will also be for sale. Come and peruse room 101, 103, and 104 from 5:00-7 pm! All proceeds benefit the electives programs. There’s also a Winter music concert that evening featuring the Ukulele class, Beginning Band, and Advanced Band from 6:00-7:00 in the cafeteria. Please join us for an amazing night to celebrate and enjoy the arts!!

Student Achievement Awards: Congratulations to the first quarter student achievement award winners! Students were nominated and voted for by staff members in various categories. Here is a link to the award descriptions.

Young Actors Stage: Join the cast of Shrek Jr. at Miwok and be a part of this hilarious modern musical! Cast members will rehearse after school on Fridays, and perform at 24th Street Theater in May. Registration ends November 27! More information and registration atYoungActorsStage.com.

Study Hall: Study Hall is offered Monday- Thursday each week. Mornings in room 215 from 7:35-8:05 and afternoons in room 112 (near the cafeteria) from 2:35-3:35 (M/T/W) and 1:35-2:35 (Thursdays).

Free Math Tutoring in the Evening: If your child needs help in the evenings while working on math homework, have them check out this FREE tutoring! Sac State has a FREE tutoring program called “Math Tutoring Buddies.” They offer one-on-one tutoring via Zoom Monday – Friday from 4pm to 7pm. Here’s a link to access a tutor on Zoom.

Math Peer Tutoring: Come by Math Peer Tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch in room 218.

6th Grade Visitation Days: If you know of any 6th grade families that are interested in attending Miwok Middle School next year, please have them sign up online for one of our visitations. Dates are filling up quickly! Here is a link to the flyer.

Kelvin Pulse Surveys: The next Kelvin pulse survey window is open from Dec 4-22. This is a brief survey for students that helps to provide us with feedback to inform our decisions about how we can continue to improve and support students’ well-being.
