In order for Sutter students to be successful, it is important to
attend school every day unless they are ill. Research
indicates that successful students attend school regularly.
All absences and tardies must be verified by the parent/guardian
by calling the attendance office at 395-5371 anytime day or
night, e-mailing email@example.com or
bringing in a note including the absence date(s), reason for
absence and a parent/guardian signature. After an absence,
it is the returning student’s responsibility to obtain and
complete the make-up work.
Sutter’s attendance team makes daily phone calls home regarding
attendance, however, it is recommended that the parent/guardian
be proactive in initiating communication to verify attendance.

Repeated tardiness in the classroom reduces the amount of time
for teaching and learning, is disruptive to the school
environment, is disrespectful to other students who are ready for
the classroom lesson, and reveals a lack of responsibility on the
part of the tardy student. Repeated tardiness will result in
